Dmitry Pyanov graduated from the Gnessins Academy of Music (Professor Levko's class). From 1992 till 1995 he worked in the Sergei Prokofiev Studio where he performed leading parts such as Lensky in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Mozart in Rimsky-Korsakov's Mozart and Salieri, Paolo in Francesca da Rimini and Young Gypsy in Aleko by Rachmaninov, Vogelsang in Mozart's The Impresario, Count Almaviva in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia. In 1995, Dmitry joined the Novaya Opera Theatre where he has performed the following parts: Bayan in Glinka's Ruslan and Lyudmila, Leading Singer in Dargomyzhsky's The Mermaid, Sinodal in Rubinstein's The Demon, the Simpleton in Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov, Lensky and Triquet in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Tsar Berendey in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Snow Maiden, Volodya in Golovin's The First Love, Salesman and Spirit in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Tamino in Mozart's Die Zauberflote, Marcello in Thomas's Hamlet, Leceister in Donizett's Maria Stuarda, Alfred in La Traviata, Barbarigo in I Due Foscari, Borsa in Rigoletto by Verdi, Peppe in Leoncavallo's I Pagliacci, Mozart in the production "O Mozart! Mozart…", the tenor parts in the productions "Maria Callas", "Bellini", "Bravissimo!", "Rossini", in Mozart's Requiem and Verdi's Requiem. In 1993, he participated in the Shalyapin Competition and was awarded the prize of the Moscow Shalyapin Centre. He also took part in the "Neue Stimmen" international singing competition in Germany.
